چکیده

We formulate a method to compute breakup processes of three-body halo systems reacting with a target. The reaction between one of the particles and the target as well as the corresponding pairwise final state interactions are carefully treated. Both absorption and diffraction processes are included. Detailed differential and total cross sections are calculated for two-neutron (2n) removal from 6He by fragmentation on 12C. Effects due to the core shadowing are taken into account. Good agreement with available experimental data is obtained. PACS numbers: 25.60.-t – Reactions induced by unstable nuclei PACS numbers: 25.60.Gc – Break–up and momentum distributions PACS numbers: 21.45.+v – Few–body systems

An analytical model is developed to study the spectra of electromagnetic dissoci-ation of two–neutron halo nuclei without precise knowledge about initial and final states. Phenomenological three–cluster bound state wave functions, reproducing the most relevant features of these nuclei, are used along with no interaction final states. The 6 He nucleus is considered as a test case, and a good agr...

Data for the scattering of 6 He, 8 He, 9 Li, and 11 Li from hydrogen are analyzed within a fully microscopic folding model of proton-nucleus scattering. Current data suggest that of these only 11 Li has a noticeable halo. The available data for the 6 Li(γ, π +) 6 He gs reaction support the conclusion that 6 He does not.

Data for the scattering of 6 He, 8 He, 9 Li, and 11 Li from hydrogen are analyzed within a fully microscopic folding model of proton-nucleus scattering. Current data suggest that of these only 11 Li has a noticeable halo. For 6 He, we have also analyzed the complementary reaction 6 Li(γ, π +) 6 He gs. The available data for that reaction support the hypothesis that 6 He may not be a halo nucleu...

The Kohn variational principle and the (correlated) Hyperspherical Harmonics technique are applied to study the n − 3 H and p − 3 He scattering at zero energy. Predictions for the singlet and triplet scattering lengths are obtained for non–relativistic nuclear Hamiltonians including two– and three– body potentials. The calculated n− 3 H total cross section agrees well with the measured value, w...

The fusion reaction of a halo nucleus 11 Be on 208 Pb is described by a three-body direct reaction model. A time-dependent wave packet approach is applied to a three-body reaction problem. The wave packet approach enables us to obtain scattering solutions without considering the three-body scattering boundary conditions. The time evolution of the wave packet also helps us to obtain intuitive un...
